There's pros and cons to both ...yet, most cons choose spontaneity. Pros usually have to work at it more.
Though some cons work at it diligently ...and take advantage of other people's spontaneity.
And it could be said that some pros are just natural, and don't have to work at it as much as the rest of us amateurs or rookies. But, I'd say most pros work very hard at it ...to become what they are.

My hope is that we don't become a culture of: "I want it ...and I want it now!!"
(Forming my thoughts on this topic ...what are your thoughts??)
Credit, and debt are more designed for spontaneity ...and actually depend upon it to thrive.
Planning, saving, and looking forward to something has its merit ...and in most cases is recommended and can be labeled responsible.
Yet, if it takes on an extreme nature, it could go against what Jesus taught us to: "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal ..."
Yes, doing things on impulse can be fun and exciting ...yet, there should be a balance. Excessiveness is usually just that ...full of excess.
Planning is usually good, yet, there are committees that bog down what needs to be addressed immediately.
Yet, again ...we have to be able to discern what is viewed as immediate and urgent to us, and what God would have us do first and put as our primary responsibilities.
