There's pros and cons to both ...yet, most cons choose spontaneity. Pros usually have to work at it more.

Though some cons work at it diligently ...and take advantage of other people's spontaneity.

And it could be said that some pros are just natural, and don't have to work at it as much as the rest of us amateurs or rookies. But, I'd say most pros work very hard at it ...to become what they are.
